The $1.6 million renovation project has been completed on the 18-hole championship golf course at Two Rivers Country Club in the private community of Governor’s Land in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Tom Fazio-designed golf course, which Golf Digest named a Top 10 in Virginia, has been perfectly rebuilt to USGA specifications with new greens, new bunkers and more.
This eastern Virginia golf course is now the only one in the region to feature all new heat- and salt-tolerant 007 bentgrass greens. Renovations also included a complete re-build of the fairway and greenside bunkers, updated bridges and an expanded practice tee with seven target greens, a practice bunker and putting green.
Designed by renowned golf architect Tom Fazio, the par 72 golf course has received accolades for its high caliber of play and unmatched natural beauty. The course leads to a spectacular finish of 1,000 yards of river frontage along the James and Chickahominy Rivers. Most recently, Two Rivers Country Club was honored as one of the “Most Challenging Golf Courses” in Virginia by Virginia Living magazine.
Now golfers of all ages and skill levels will enjoy consistent speed and playability throughout the year on a course that’s as challenging as it is picturesque.

Attesting to the stability of the established private community, this renovation project was funded by Two Rivers Country Club without any member dues assessments. Spence Golf, Inc., based in Greensboro, North Carolina, was the golf course construction company for the project.
