Among the many different events was a Ladies’ Luncheon Fashion and Truck Show held at The Club & Spa at Fiddler’s Creek. The event, hosted by Petunia’s and Silpada Jewelry, featured selected clothing and jewelry merchandise that was available for purchase onsite with special discounts and live music. Lunch was highlighted by Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass with Tropical Fruit Salsa followed by a special dessert creation.
Fiddler’s Creek residents were also treated to a complimentary seminar discussing the affluence and anxiety of the 1950s. Immediately following the seminar was a Fabulous 50’s Party, featuring music by Jason DeSimone and dancing. After enjoying a complimentary themed drink, homeowners dined on classic Rock and Roll Chili with Corn Muffins, Toasted Coconut Ambrosia Salad, Build it Your Way Burgers, Fried Chicken with Gravy, and Green Bean Casserole. Dessert featured an assortment of specially prepared Soda Fountain Floats and Ice Cream Sundaes.
An annual tradition at Fiddler’s Creek is the St. Patrick’s Day celebration with many residents and guests dressing in their finest Irish attire. The evening affair highlighted an authentic Irish dinner consisting of such dishes as Hot Leek and Potato Soup, Irish Pub Salad, Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Bangers, Coddle Stew, Steamed Green Cabbage, Colcannon, Northern Irish Potato Cakes, and Roasted Root and Forest Vegetables. Dessert featured delightful Irish sweets such as Irish Whiskey Bread Pudding, Bailey’s Cream Pena Cotta, Spice Cake and Chocolate Fool.
Another annual tradition is the Art Exhibit and Wine Tasting at Fiddler’s Creek. The exhibit enabled amateur and professional artists from within the community to display their paintings, weavings, ceramics, wearable art, jewelry, photography and other crafts. Held outside on the Caxambas Terrace, the event also featured a complimentary tasting of red and white wines.
Also during March, residents were treated to the “Fiddler’s Got Talent” program, an open performance for those residents who are singers, standup comedians, play instruments or have some other unique talent to share. This year’s performance featured six entertainers from within Fiddler’s Creek and showcased the best talent from within the community.
Residents also were entertained by a special “Tribute to The Jersey Boys” performed by the Atlantic City Boys, four dynamic lead singers who have wowed audiences in Las Vegas, Walt Disney World and, of course, Atlantic City. The quartet lent their world-class vocals to the rock n’ roll harmonies of The Drifters, The Beach Boys, and Franki Valli and the Four Seasons after homeowners enjoyed a specially prepared four-course meal in Caxambas.
Residents desiring to give back to the community participated in a Blood Drive in March sponsored by the Community Blood Center, an affiliate of the NCH Healthcare System. All donations collected by the Blood Center were sent to local Collier County hospitals to benefit area patients, friends and family in sudden need of blood, thus saving the lives of others.
