Naples, FL (May 2, 2013) - The level of competition was intense earlier this year as members and guests of The Golf Club at Fiddler’s Creek competed in the 2013 Creek Cup and Men’s Invitational golf tournaments.

These exclusive tournaments are annual affairs at The Golf Club at Fiddler’s Creek and enable local golfers to enjoy the world-class amenities and superior member services the Club offers.

The Creek Cup competition was held over a weekend in February. The tournament included 36 holes of golf with a delicious lunch on the first day and awards presentation dinner on the second night at Caxambas. The field of golfers was pre-flighted with one overall winner as well as a winner and runner up from each flight.

The Men’s Overall Champion in the 2013 Creek Cup was the team of Mike Quinn and Corey Geddis. Awards also were presented to Men’s A Flight winners Fred Rinaldi and Tom Gollinger; Men’s B Flight winners Glen Metelmann and Web Gaskin and runners-up Lee McNeely and Robert Claxton; and Men’s C Flight winners Gerald Marrone and Roger Berkley and runners-up Bill Holewinski and Tom Sinelli. The Men’s Middle Flight winners were John Caban and David Yates, followed by Rich Peterson and John Todd.

The Women’s Overall Champion in the 2013 Creek Cup was presented to the team of Sheryl Olin and Sandra Rommel. Awards also were presented to Women’s A Flight winners Deb Henning and Troy Gaskin and runners-up Ewa Akeson and Lola Sinelli; and Women’s B Flight winners Kay Burns and Sharyn Kessler and runners-up Lyn Kaiser and Anita Chaney.

The 2013 Men’s Invitational held over the first weekend in March also featured a variety of winners in a number of flights. The Overall Champions were Dave Schneider and John Schadler.

The First Flight winners were Paul Kaplan and Dan Brown; Second Flight winners were Bob Theriault and Kurt Theriault; Third Flight winners were Tom Sewart and Brian Sewart; Fourth Flight winners were Dan Murphy and Gary Murphy; Fifth Flight winners were Web Gaskin and Jim Engelhuber; Sixth Flight winners were Don Cook and Mike Chapman; Seventh Flight winners were Bill Fiedler and John Pollack; Eighth Flight winners were Steve Hoekstra and Brandon Hoekstra; Ninth Flight winners were Lee McNeely and Scott Furgeson; and Tenth Flight winners were Vin Thompson and Matt Milonas.
