What sets Crescent Communities on Lake James apart from other mountain lake living communities is its commitment to lake and land stewardship. Set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, here Crescent's communities, 1780 and Old Wildlife Club, offer striking views of the protected lands of the sprawling Lake James State Park and Blue Ridge Mountains paired with the daily excitement of a lake adventure center, Camp Lake James, where all residents of 1780, Old Wildlife Club and any future community are members. The Camp's full time activities staff make it the place where the lake and its adventures come alive for members.

Crescent's guiding architectural vision is founded on a commitment to respecting the area's tradition of conservation and provides stewardship on preserving the land with its native flora and fauna for future generations. Crescent worked with local, state and national partners to develop its guidelines, which are meant to ensure the lake remains as unspoiled as it is today for generations to come.

Both communities are surrounded by an amazing collection of state and national parks, and a linear National Park and 3.5 miles of new pathways on the Overmountain Victory Trail run through 1780. Lake James is a 90-minute drive from Charlotte, North Carolina and 45 minutes from Asheville, North Carolina.
