Step-by-Step Instructions to Turn On Filters in Your Google Analytics
Note: User account must have editing permission.

Bot Filter
1.       Click the Admin tab
2.       Select your web property from the Property column’s drop down menu
3.        In the View column, click View Settings
4.       Scroll down to Bot Filtering and check the box “Exclude all hits from known bots and spiders

Internal Traffic Filter
1.       Click the Admin tab
2.       Select your web property from the Property column’s drop down menu
3.       In the View column, click Filters
4.       Click + New Filter
5.       Give your filter a name (e.g. Internal Traffic Filter)
6.       Under Filter Type, select Predefined
7.       Click Select filter type and select “Exclude”
8.       Click Select source and select “traffic from the IP addresses”
9.       Click Select expression and select “that are equal to”
10.     Enter the IP address to exclude

Tip: You can get your own IP address simply by doing a Google search for: What is my IP?
